Boot War
Monday, November 2, 2009 9:57 PM

I remember when boots first came into the open as a very stylish thing to wear I thought it looked very silly. As people wore them I started to warm up to them and know I love the look!

I don't like "UGGS" I think they are horribly ugly and look very sloppy. I would never wear them, no matter how warm they are. They look like hobo boots. I got a pair very similar to them a few years ago from my mommy but they are plaid and more sporty looking, not so bum-ish.

Anyway, for the past month or or I have been wanted to go searching for that perfect boot. I wanted something practical but stylish and pretty too. I know that I loved the look of the flat, slim, suede boots that were about 3 inches from the knee and all scrunchy. My problem with those are, even in size 10 the "calf" part is not fitting my calf. As frustrated as this makes me I have to live with it, I have much muscle...and so there are a lot of high boots I can't wear.

Another thing I do when I'm shoe shopping is look at the beautiful purple, blue, black, white, shiny, studded, sparkly 5 inch heels and boots that are the same and go about your knee. I love the look but I'm not that kind of girl, I would wear some of those shoes probably like 3 times a year, if that! So, I steer away. Maybe one day I will buy some really fancy shoes but not right now.

So, there has been a draw to the boots as of late and I needed something for walking in for winter anyway so today was the day. Even though I knew I wanted flat boots for practicality, I was still confused as to whether I wanted high boots or shorter ones. I also knew that it would be really nice if I could find two pair, one that is extremely practical, like "grandma's non slip shoe" in a pretty package and also one that is still flat so still has that practicality but also is more classy and easy to wear with anything and anywhere.

I found them!!! Today Shawn and I went shopping and I found both and they are the perfect boots ever! WOW, they are both just beautiful and amazing. Finally!

One pair is flat and grey suede (top left) with a round toe and it is between ankle and calf boot but loose too, love it! And the other is a Puma boot (top right) that is light tan in color and is all one color which is amazing for Pumas. They are a little higher and they have fur on the inside and are so beautiful and so grippy and wintery. I love 'em! I'm so happy.

Thank you bank account! I will wear these until they are wore through and even after!
